The plane carried out several missions in several parts of the country and alerted fire-brigades whenever irregularities were detected.
This past weekend the Air Force spotted a number of fires that were just starting up, hence helping fire-fighters respond to them before they flared out of control.
During the 48 hours the specialist aircraft, belonging to 502 Squadron and based in Montijo, was used for monitoring purposes, it also detected people using fire to clear land, as well as other behaviours that were deemed as being risky, given the high temperatures still afflicting Portugal.
