The first part of the ride was to São Teotónio via Casais and Marmelete. We parked on the main square with the beautiful white and blue church at the side and enjoyed coffee (and cake) at the café on the square whilst the locals had a good look at all the bikes.
After coffee, we saddled up to head for the home of Ian James in Vale da Telha. Ian is a regular participant on the ASB rides and a long standing member. He is unwell at the moment and we wanted to visit him to show our love and support and take some photos of us all together.
After leaving Vale da Telha we turned off the main road and went down through the Pincho valley back towards Odiáxere and the restaurant for lunch.
Arriving back at the restaurant, we enjoyed a superb lunch of couvert, freshly BBQ’d chicken or fish fillets with rice, chips and salad, wine, a selection of desserts and coffee to finish.
Unfortunately, our group organiser, David Shirley, was suffering from flu and couldn’t join us and we look forward to his speedy recovery. A big thank you to Ulf Kolbratt , Roger Ingle and Peter Allen in helping prepare for the ride.
