Algarve Tourism Board “regrets” and “rejects” Portuguese Environment Agency’s decision to forego Environmental Impact Study into

The Algarve Tourism Board has said it “regrets” and “rejects” the decision made by the Portuguese Environment Agency (APA) to forego an Environmental Impact Study into offshore drilling was to go ahead off Aljezur.

In a statement, the RTA recalls more than 42 thousand people, including local authorities, have “showed their deep dislike for this project. It accused the APA of neglecting the risks and negative impacts that oil drilling off the Algarve coast, which is due to start on 15 September, may have.
