According to media reports earlier in the week, around €400,000 is to be invested in the work, which will start this year and be completed by next year.
European Union funds will be used to pay for seventy percent of the investment, with the rest being footed by a private hotel group.
The walkway was built four years ago at a cost of €1.3 million.
