Finishing touches are being put to renovation work on the fairgrounds in time for the huge event, which runs until Sunday 28
August.
Every night over the next 10 days a top Portuguese act will take to the stage to provide entertainment, starting with popular pop band D.A.M.A. on Friday (19 August), followed by Angolan singer Anselmo Ralph (Saturday 20 August), and closing with the ‘father of Portuguese rock’, Rui Veloso (Sunday 28 August).
This year will be the 37th annual edition of Fatacil and it features hundreds of exhibitors from the sectors of handicrafts, agriculture, commerce, industry and tourism and this year also focuses largely on wines after Lagoa was named ‘City of Wine 2016’.
Daily and nightly equestrian shows will also be taking place.
A more modern and spacious venue following recent interventions offers improved safety conditions as well as a better flow of visitors in a larger and more open space.
