The flight will be offered three times a week – Wednesday, Friday and Sunday – between the city of Hangzhou, on the east coast of China, and Lisbon, with a stopover in Beijing, the Chinese airline’s marketing department told Lusa News Agency.
Beijing Capital Airlines plans to offer a fourth weekly flight, but it has yet to be approved by the Chinese aviation ministry, the spokesperson said.
The flight between China and Portugal will be offered on an Airbus 330-200, one of the European manufacturer’s largest commercial passenger aircraft, with a capacity of 475 passengers.
A total of 183,000 Chinese tourists visited Portugal in 2016, an increase of 20 percent on the previous year, and spent a total of €80 million.
