Fire-fighters in Tavira, Castro Marim and São Brás de Alportel will today all be on the highest state of readiness as prevailing weather conditions will be conducive to fires.
According to the Portuguese Met Office has also placed four other areas of the Algarve on the second highest level of alert, which are Monchique, Silves, Loulé and Alcoutim.
