
The number of complaints and requests for information submitted to Portugal's energy regulator, ERSE, jumped 26% last year from the previous year, to 31,421, the institution said in a statement.
The electricity sector gave rise to by far the most complaints, at 59% of the total, ERSE said.
These complaints mostly had to with invoicing (10,534) and customer contracts (3,217).
Last year, half of all the complaints received by ERSE (at 14,495) came via its online complaints book, which has been available since 1 July 2017 for essential public services.
