In April, exports had increased by 17.7 percent and imports by 12.9 percent.
The balance of trade deficit was €1.122 billion in May 2018, €284 million less than in the same month of 2017.
Excluding fuels and lubricants, according to INE the balance of trade deficit reached €971 million, having improved by €72 million compared to May 2017.
In the quarter ended May 2018, exports and imports of goods increased, respectively, by 5.2 percent and 4.1 percent over the same period of 2017, according to INE.
