The former head of, the Portuguese banker who now heads Lloyds Bank is going to talk at the technology and innovation summit about change in the financial sector and how it is modernising the industry.

Commissioner Vestager is also going to attend the summit, to be held between 6 and 9 November, to analyse the public policies that affect the technology sector.

In a communiqué, Paddy Cosgrave, the Web Summit CEO, said he was satisfied with the announcement of the first 200 speakers.

“More name are going to be announced in the coming months and some of the great technology CEOs and titans of the business world are going to be on our stages”, he said.

Web Summit is one of the biggest technology, innovation and entrepreneurship events in the world and has evolved in just six years from a team of three to over 150 employees.

The summit, which began in Ireland, is going to remain in Lisbon until 2020 and may stay another two years after that.
