More than 2,000 supermarkets across the country will have duly identified volunteers handing out shopping bags to customers wishing to help an estimated 400,000 people living below the breadline.
Organisers have said they will welcome all food donations, but have asked for basic products such as milk, pastas, rice, olive oil, cereals and canned food such as beans, tuna and sausages as they all have a longer shelf life.
It won't help. It is only going to get worse. All they have to do is increase the salary a little bit to match their needy so they can manage to have food on their table better. The corruption is the reason. No wonder most human being can be VERY CRUEL AND HEARTLESS CREATURE ON THE EARTH! JEEZ!

Canned food are great for a longer shelf life but it doesn't mean healthy food. it is good for an emergency. Not a regularly food not on the table. If you want real protein and healthier then you will need to have a fresh food like Collard Greens, Kale, dry beans, and etc. They are better than canned food, really. It is okay for temporarily to eat but not daily food to eat on the table.
