The price of fuel at the pumps has risen by an average of 1.5 cents litre just after Christmas to climb to the highest figure since July 2015.
The latest spike in fuel prices is blamed on the weakening euro against the dollar and the rising cost of oil on international markets.
The cost of unleaded fuel is now at an average of €1.45 a litre while diesel is now sitting at €1.20.
The great RIP OFF of fuel prices in Portugal. When the price of oil was 110 dollars a barrel the price of diesel was around 1.45 euros. Now the price of oil is 56 dollars the price of diesel is over 1.30 euros. It has gone from 1.05 when oil was 30 dollars, so if the price got to 110 dollars again we will be paying around 1.80! As I say a rip off.
