Government reiterates aim of raising minimum salary to €600

The government has reiterated its aim of raising the national minimum salary to €600 by 2019.

Portugal’s minister of employment, José Vieira da Silva, has reiterated the government’s stated objective of increasing the National Minimum Salary (SMN) to €600 a month “at the end of the [current] parliament”, which ends its term in 2019. The minimum salary is currently €557, based on 14 monthly payments a year (including extra ‘months’ at summer and Christmas).
