The FIDH study classified the 28 countries with 67 human rights indicators and 17 environmental indicators and can be used by investors to encourage them to invest in countries that respect human rights.
Among the various criteria taken into account for the ranking, Portugal gets the lowest scores in international development aid (2.50 points on a scale of 0 to 10), justice system (2.86), rights of immigrants and refugees (3.3), but also fails in areas such as gender equality (4.13) and the right to work (4.5).
At the top of the ranking came Sweden (1st), Finland (2nd) and Denmark (3rd), while the worst places were Malta (28th), Cyprus (27th) and Greece (26th).
