It takes place this year between 18 and 27 August, to a budget of €850,000. Francisco Martins, Lagoa Mayor, said the objective is to make this year’s Fatacil “the best Fatacil ever.”

Acknowledging his mission statement is a repetition of the affirmation set for last year’s event, Mayor Martins explained: “We are not overlooking or belittling previous editions. It is simply about reiterating the determination to do more and better every year.”
The entertainment agenda this year includes some of the most famous names on the Portuguese music scene, including rock band Xutos e Pontapés, pop band D.A.M.A, reggae artist Richie
Campbell, and singer João Pedro Pais.
Several hundred exhibitors showcasing the finest national produce, from horse tack to gastronomic delicacies, will fill the 50,000 square metre showground, which includes a dedicated equestrian area.
National horse breeder, Clémence Faivre, who breeds the beautiful Lusitano horses, will be debuting her horse show ‘Gotan’ in Portugal at Fatacil, which takes spectators through the various stages of horse training, while the show, PatrimóniUs, which has been especially put together for Fatacil and merges Fado with the Lusitano horse and traditional Alentejo folk singing, will also be staged.
Parking in and around the venue has been expanded to accommodate around 1,000 vehicles, while a new car park next to the local Aldi and Apolónia supermarkets can accommodate a further 4,000 vehicles.
Prices remain unchanged, at €3.50 per day per adult, €12.50 for a family of four, and €20 for a 10-day ticket.
