Life expectancy climbs

Life expectancy in Portugal has risen to 80.6 years. According to the latest figures, Portuguese men can expect to live to 77.6 years old while women can look forward to an additional six years.

These numbers show that Portuguese men are living almost a year and a half longer than they did six years ago, while women have added 1.14 years to their lives since 2010. People in central Portugal were meanwhile found to have the longest life expectancy, while those in the southern Alentejo had the
lowest.
