Among the conclusions in the document about the performance in Lisbon regarding water, there are positive results about “awareness by operators and consumers” along with the fact that the amount of water “actually lost reduced very significantly” thanks to a system implemented by Lisbon water company ‘Empresa Portuguesa das Águas Livres (EPAL)’.
“The amount of water actually lost fell by about 75 percent, from 19.5 million [cubic metres] in 2004, to 5.2 million m3 in 2014”, according to information from the city council handed to Lusa News Agency and subsequently +resented publically by councillor, José Sá Fernandes.
