Brad Parscale is taking part in a number of panels at the Web Summit in Lisbon and gave a short press conference to Portuguese journalists.

Asked about the US president's use of Twitter, the communications expert said he wants President Trump to use this social network "as much as possible," as he believes "people want to hear their leaders."

Parscale said he believes it is up to the President to decide on his use of Twitter and if that's how he feels, he should do it that way. He added he was glad Trump tweets to communicated directly with people.

Asked if he's going to work with Trump on a future campaign, the head of digital strategy said, "You're going to have to ask him, but I hope so."

"He's my boss, I'm not his boss. I hope he calls me, but if he wants to send a tweet, that's okay with me," he quipped.

As to whether this had been the most important job he has ever had, Parscale responded with a question: "Who doesn't want to play in the Super Bowl?"

"I was blessed and it was one of the best opportunities of my life," he admitted.

Asked about the possibility of this way of campaigning catching on in countries like Portugal, Parscale said he was not "a specialist in Portuguese politics" and this was his first visit to Lisbon.

He added that he imagined that the American methodology and the way in which social networks were used have an effect on the rest of the world, but that all countries are different and laws are different. He said the scale would probably also be different.
