Kate and Gerry McCann have lost a High Court battle against the Government over its decision to cancel the second part of the Leveson Inquiry.

McCanns lose UK High Court battle

The McCanns are part of a group of four claimants who brought a judicial review in a bid to force the Government to reconsider shelving the inquiry.

The second part of the inquiry was due to look into unlawful conduct within media organisations as well as relations between police and the press.

The McCanns complained of press intrusion into their lives after their daughter Madeleine went missing on holiday in Portugal in 2007.

Comments

It is disingenuous for the McCanns to claim the Press intruded into their lives when they used the publicity machine of the media extensively to promote their own point of view about everything from the Portuguese police to the need for additional resources to find their daughter. You cannot have it both ways. I say to the McCanns, suck it up. Deal with it. And after everything else is over, and you have accepted that you may never see your daughter again, remember that it was you, her parents, who left her alone in your hotel room at a very tender age.

"the McCann complained of press intrusion after theor daughter wentry missing" no sh*t!!!!! BECAUSE they had something to do with their daughters disappearance!!! They know exactly what happened to her and they don't want the press snooping around their home and family as to keep the truth burried with their daughter!!! Evil people!!!! May the courts never ever side in their favor ever!!!!

Anyway, you never know. They might have been freaks that shackled their kids and someone came to rescue the girl from them.

Most of us in the Algarve think the McCanns were guilty in some respect, if only of negligence. There are a lot of toddlers and young children missing out there. Nobody cares about them or spends enormous sums on them. Would their parents grumble about the media if their plight came into focus and forced the police to look again?

When are we going to stop wasting time and money on these two. Any other parents would have been persecuted to the ends of the law for neglect. Any person in their right mind can see these two are as guilty as hell. Does it need a other substantial amount of money spent by Scotland Yard to convince people that it is money spent investigating the wrong suspects. They are there in front of you. Kate and Gerry ( I don't show any emotion) Mcann). Spend the money is REAL missing kids
