According to a new report, people aged 25 to 29 were the most likely to contract the virus. A total of 264 deaths were reported last year due to HIV, with the average age at death being 52. Between 1983 and 2017 a total of 58,000 cases of HIV were reported in Portugal, resulting in 14,500 deaths. Lisbon tops the list of infections, followed by Porto and Portimão.
