The phenomenon lasted just over five hours, having started at 4.48pm and finished shortly before 10pm.
Beside Portugal, the partial lunar eclipse was also visible in Australia, Antarctica, Asia, Africa, the Middle East, the rest of Europe, northeast Brazil, the Pacific and Indian oceans and the south Atlantic.
