According to Irish TV net-work TV3.ie the ‘Don’t Wake Me Up’ singer was scheduled to host an event at the Bliss club in Vilamoura, but took to social media network Twitter just hours before his planned appearance to tell fans that “plane problems” in Spain had prevented him from making it.
“Bliss Club Portugal, I can’t make tonight due to jet issues in Ibiza,” he wrote. “I will be back to party with you guys soon!”
The popular summer venue in Loulé is only open in July and August, and, TV3 reports, the R&B star was “supposed to help officially open the summer run on Sunday.”
Club bosses issued an apology to fans in a statement on the official Facebook page, but assured club-goers alternative programming would be planned for the event in lieu of Brown.
“For reasons beyond BLISS’s control, Chris Brown will not act tonight, as had been agreed and publicised. Even though this is unrelated to us, we apologise to all our clients and Chris Brown fans for this unforeseen issue.”
Brown was in Portugal earlier this year, in March, when he visited the capital Lisbon for the first time, to make a similar appearance at the nightclub Main.
