Police remove 13 illegal firearms from Portugal’s streets every day

Portuguese police are currently seizing around 13 illegally-owned or obtained firearms a day from
Portugal’s streets.

Last year, the country’s policing authorities confiscated a total of 4,853 guns over 12 months, which is an average of around 13 firearms a day.
This year, in the three months spanning January and March, the GNR police force alone seized 645 guns.
