The base price for the tender is just over 221 million euros and the award criteria is the “lowest price”.
The tender covers all regular Metro operations, including safety and customer support, as well as major fleet servicing, major overhauls of the technical systems and the ticketing system”, the Metro said.
The company or Consortium that wins the tender will get a sub-concession for seven years, between April 2018 and April 2025.
The Metro do Porto operation has been awarded to ViaPorto (composed of Barraqueiro, Arriva, Keolis and Manvia) since 2010 and the concession ends next April.
