The Commission said it has identified several shortcomings in the transposition of the directives on licences in a number of EU states.
It singled out Portugal for its failure to ensure that one person holds only one licence, with many residents here reportedly still driving with two or more EU licences.
So, with the forthcoming Brexit, what does this mean for British ex-pats residing in Portugal, with current UK Driving licences, which shows both the EU and Union Jack insignia on the front?

I've got two driving licences. My Portuguese issued licence and almost three years ago I had to take a UK driving and theory test, as the DVLA wouldn't exchange my PT. It may now be a blessing, with Brexit. My UK licence also allows me to drive longer!
