“We continue to be able to drink tap water in Portugal without worrying about it and, although we’re already at levels that are very close to perfection, the safe water indicator once more rose a little, from 98.2 percent in 2013 to 98.4 percent in 2014,” said Luís Simas, the department’s director.
Simas was speaking as he presented ERSAR’s annual report on water quality, which was released on Wednesday.
On the percentage of fulfilment of the minimum frequency of samples to be submitted for testing, this was in line with the trend of previous years, and was at 99.9 percent last year.
