On Wednesday he was spotted in Funchal, the island’s capital, where he was accompanied by the president of the Regional Government of Madeira, Miguel Albuquerque, on a traditional downhill wicker sledge ride.
Prince Albert II is understood to have conducted a three-day visit to Madeira Island, starting Tuesday.
During the short trip he also attended the inauguration of an exhibition dedicated to his father, named ‘A Prince Explorer: Alberto I of Monaco in Madeira’, as well as the unveiling of a name plaque in the Prince of Monaco Square.
