The investors who are currently registering the PT/Oi Victims Association, out about €5 million into complex structured products related with debt of the former Portugal Telecom and that became an underlying of the Brazilian operator Oi when the two companies merged.

Last year, with the insolvency of Oi (which is now trying to be recovered), these products suffered considerable losses, of around 80%, so the clients are now taking the banks which, as financial intermediaries sold them these products, such as Banco Best and Barclays to court.

The clients are also considering suing the former PT board directors like Zeinal Bava and Henrique Granadeiro, along with some Oi directors, among others.

The former BES Investimento (now Haitong Bank) was one of the banks that transformed the bonds of the former Portugal Telecom into complex structured complex problems.
