Lisboa, Santarém, Setúbal and Bragança will today be on the highest alert level until 9pm.
The remainder of the country is orange alert, while the Algarve has been placed on yellow alert.
Lows are expected to remain above 20 degrees Celsius across the country, while highs will once again approach or even breach 40 degrees in many parts.
