Ten districts of mainland Portugal will be on amber alert from Wednesday because of rough seas, with forcasts of waves of between 4 and 5 metres, according to the Portuguese Institute of the Sea and the Atmosphere (IPMA).
According to the IPMA, the districts of Viana do Castelo, Porto, Braga, Aveiro, Coimbra, Leiria, Lisbon, Setúbal, Beja, and Faro will be on amber alert from Wednesday morning until 06:59 on Thursday.
On Monday rough seas forced the closure of Caminha, Viana do Castelo, Esposende, Douro, Nazaré and Lisbon to all navigation.
Ports in Vila do Conde, Póvoa do Varzim, Aveiro and Figueira da Foz were also affected.
