Having recently reopened ahead of the spring and summer crowds that flock to the region, ‘Sand City’ is this time round dedicated to a completely new theme: the arts.
Famous singers, actors, artists and dancers, architects, writers and sculptors can all be found at this year’s Fiesa, which also features a Sandy Bar, night events, guided tours, a fish spa, shopping and a children’s play area.
Organised by ProSandArt and built by many talented sculptors of nationalities from around the globe, Fiesa is “an exclusive place made up of true artistic works and endowed with a unique architectural beauty.
“The city is magical, more than an exhibition of sculptures, it is a sensorial experience that is worth visiting”, its organisers say.
The original sculptures, some of which can reach 12 metres in height, are impressive not only for their size but also their technique and overall look.
Crafted from some 40,000 tons of sand, Sand City is open from 10am to 9pm from 1 April to 1 June; 10am to 10pm until 14 July; 10am until midnight until 15 September, and from 10am until 8pm from 16 September until 31 October.
