The incident happened at lunchtime on 29 September but only on Tuesday 5 October did the boy, a Chinese national, lose consciousness.
At the time of the attack the boy was operated on and required 40 stitches to his head.
On Tuesday he reportedly started vomiting and fell into coma due to internal bleeding.
He was taken to the Santa Maria Hospital in a serious condition.
