The organisers of the Fair have scoured far and wide and drafted in a whole range of exhilarating activities to entertain children from toddlers to teens, and all without draining parents’ pockets.
A pirate net and giant slide, pedal karts, an inflatable football pitch and an inflatable trampoline are just some of the inventive new kiddies’ activities that will be at the fair for all to enjoy, courtesy of fun company Turma Radikal.
The massively popular Circo Pequeno entertainers will also be there, as usual, with their magical range of plat-spinning, bubble-blowing and bouncy castle fun.
For the first time ever, the Fair will be hosting the MUSITRIX Show; an interactive, pedagogical concert for children, which will be held on both days.
The audience is invited to dance and sing along with the MUSITRIX show, staged by Planeta Yupi, which features musical themes accompanied by guitar, harmonic, Didgeridoo and percussion instruments.
Have a go on the Magic Microphone, which transforms the voice of the speaker, and take a trip to through the jungle, singing along with Indians and animals.
A Disco ends the show, during which the public is invited to burn off some energy by dancing and jumping around.
The Lagoa firefighters will be back again this year, with their exciting activities for older kids, including the fantastic water hose and zip-line, while a range of other treats for children, such as candy floss and popcorn stalls, and face painting, will also be dotted around the FATACIL showground (extra fees apply).
All this, plus a packed line-up of family entertainment for all ages, which includes the customary fashion shows, dance acts, yoga demonstrations, as well as the evening extravaganzas: The Protons, who take the stage on Saturday, and the famous Daddy Jack band, performing on Sunday.
The International Algarve Fair is being held at the Fatacil showground in Lagoa on 2 and 3 June, and is now firmly established as one of the largest annual events in Portugal on the expat calendar, attended each year by thousands of people.
