“Portugal is to be in the centre of the world of football, with this unique fair, dedicated exclusively to the football industry in its various areas,” Pedro Proença said in the presentation of the event, which takes places on 5 and 6 September this year in Oeiras, a municipality west of Lisbon.

At the presentation ceremony, the municipality and Soccerex signed a partnership agreement until 2021, with Oeiras welcoming a total of three editions of the event, which has been in 20 cities around the world.

According to Proença, “more than 1,500 speakers and 70 exhibitors from around the world will be in Oeiras to learn, share ideas and create business opportunities, in the different areas of football.”

Isaltino Morais, the mayor of Oeiras, highlighted “the impact that the event will have on the dissemination of Oeiras and Portugal,” recalling that the municipality already hosts other “major international events.”

In addition to Portugal, Soccerex is to go to China in May and the US in November.

Soccerex was found in 1995 in England and runs events in the football industry in its various areas, promoting them around the world and developing platforms related to the sport.
