After three days of the ten days of the action, an average of around 70 percent of flights have managed to take off as scheduled, but the trade union for the airline’s pilots has questioned whether this has come as a result of an excessive number of flying hours being undertaken by those who decided against participating in the strike.
TAP pilot strike costing millions

I was stranded all day at Porto airport because two flights were cancelled. TAP's handling of the situation was terrible. No notice of cancellations, six hour queues to talk to customer services, belligerent and unhelpful staff (with one exception). They wouldn't even offer the assistance in the morning that they are legally required to do.
Portugal is a beautiful country with wonderful people but its airline is an embarrassment. Its days must be numbered. It will be a Pyrrhic victory if the pilots own 20% of a bust airline.

With Tap (Take Another Plain) I miss 50% of the time the connecting flight. But I have never encountered any unfriendly staff in handling transfer etc. I think that the rights of the workers should be protected in a transition to privatization. I don't know what the stakes are for them at this moment.

TAP strike costing the Portuguese economy millions of euros? No problem. Just borrow more money from the European Central Bank to make up the difference. You may at some time have to pay it back, but what the heck, isn't that what banks are for?

I checked the availability of the flights from London to Lisbon up to the morning on the day of departure. All systems were telling me that the flight is going ahead. When I got to the airport, the flight was cancelled. The handling agents were not helpful, allowing some people to be put on different flights but not me and my family. We were told to call TAP's customer service number which was not answered. We had no choice but to go home. I am still waiting to get my money back and compensation. Still can not get through to customer service and no response to emails after 4 days.
