Lisbon: While the capital can expect ‘ordinary’ summer days this weekend, with thermometers hovering either side of 30ºC, there will be a steady rise in the mercury from the beginning of next week, with highs set to reach 37ºC before the weekend.
The South: Extended forecasts point to highs of 42ºC in the Algarve next Friday, while Beja will reach 43ºC and Évora told to expect 44ºC. Nights will also be warm, with a low of 26ºC anticipated for next Thursday evening.
The North: Oporto is the one city in Portugal where thermometers will initially struggle to top 25ºC before warming up. Water temperatures will also be coolest, unlike southern Portugal, where the sea temperature could rise to a tropical 26ºC, being warmest in the Eastern Algarve.
