Football fans in the Algarve will be able to see top Dutch side Ajax and German Bundesliga outfit RB Leipzig in action at the Estádio da Nora, Ferreiras, Albufeira on Saturday 7 January.
The game starts at 3.30pm but earlier in the day the Ajax second string will play fellow Eredivisie members SBV Excelsior at 12.30pm. Admission: Adults 7.50 euros; children (over 12 years) 5 euros; under 12’s free.
Ajax are one of only three clubs to have won the European Cup/Champions League titles three times on the trot; the others being Real Madrid and Bayern Munich.
Eight Dutch internationals including keeper Tim Krul, on loan from Newcastle United, plus 23- year-old Moroccan international Hakim Ziyech will be under the spotlight as scouts from clubs throughout Europe and China will be running the rule over possible transfer targets.
RB Leipzig, second in the Bundesliga behind Bayern Munich, also have young stars under the spotlight.
Davie Selke is being watched by Stoke City whilst Swedish international midfielder Emil Forsberg is a Liverpool target. Two other players to keep an eye on are 19-year-old Scottish international winger Oliver Burke and USA international striker Terrence Boyd.
Included in the SBV Excelsior squad are Arghus Soares, on loan from SC Braga, and 20- year-old Danilo Pantic on loan from Premier League club Chelsea. ”
