“A big investment has to be made and the training of the different health establishments to be able to respond to these needs. It is also a program that is being developed, very slowly in this case, which has to do with the introduction of psychologists at school so that there can be better monitoring, better protection and better response to mental health problems among young people”, said António Costa.
António Costa highlighted an important fact that Portuguese society has started to talk about “mental health”.
“Until recently, people didn't treat mental health issues as a health issue. It was taboo. It was something to be ashamed of. The first barrier is overcome”, defended the Prime Minister.
More empty words from a man with no ethics nor vision. Prevention is the best way to increase well being - cultivating real green, clean, safe parks, cycling lanes, decent public swimming pools, focus on a good healthy lifestyle and not only for the privileged few. But in Portugal, words are cheap while action never is implemented.
