The President of the Republic will travel to England on
Sunday to attend the funeral of Queen Elizabeth II, which will take place the
following day.

“The funeral is scheduled for the 19th and I will go on the
18th”, Marcelo Rebelo de Sousa told journalists, during a visit to the Lisbon
Book Fair.
The President of the Republic had already confirmed last
week that he would be present at the funeral ceremonies of the Queen on behalf
of the oldest British ally.
Queen Elizabeth II died on Thursday at the age of 96 at
Balmoral Castle in Scotland.
