On Friday 1st December at a packed event at Sergio’s Bar in Taviscal, Nr Algoz, a sum of 3300 Euros was presented to Colin Hearn, the Chairman of the Royal British Legion Portugal and Atlantic Islands Branch.

The donation will go towards the Poppy Appeal.

In response Colin thanked the band for their generous donation “This is a substantial amount for which we are most grateful - it is a great start to making this coming year the most successful for our poppy appeal.” He also spoke on behalf of the other charities by thanking the band for the donations they have made.

The Basement Band will be performing at the annual RBL Garden Party on the 6th June next year to commemorate the 80th Anniversary of D.Day.
