According to Notícias ao Minuto, the president of the Ferragudo Parish Council, Luís Alberto, assured that there was no request for authorisation for filming "on Rua das Bougainvílias, which connects the church to the cemetery, nor for the recordings that took place on the terrace of the restaurant 'Borda do Cais'".
As the mayor explained to Notícias ao Minuto, "any recording on public roads requires authorisation from the council. The municipality must be informed of everything that involves filming and the film's synopsis." And this request was never made.
In view of this, the president of the Ferragudo Parish Council will now "formalise" the situation to the Lagoa City Council and the latter will decide whether or not to file a complaint with the authorities against the company responsible for filming, 'Private Media Group'.
Despite the controversy that the case is now generating, according to Luís Alberto, at the time the scenes were recorded – which was in September/October last year – no one noticed the recordings.
"It's a street very frequented by bloggers, influencers and simple citizens for photos with the bougainvillea, so someone with cameras is common for local inhabitants. We have no complaints at the moment", explained the president of the Ferragudo Council, remembering that the scene recorded on this street lasts "only 10 to 15 seconds".
According to the mayor, the company responsible for the recordings is already known in the Algarve for other similar scenes recorded in the region.
