According to the latest bulletin, released today, since the beginning of the pandemic, Portugal has recorded a total of 101,860 confirmed cases and 2,198 deaths.
The DGS also reveals that 39,696 cases are active, 966 more than on Sunday.
According to the report of the 17 registered deaths, 12 occurred in the North region and three in Lisbon and Vale do Tejo, and two in the Centre.
Regarding hospital admissions, the bulletin reveals that in the last 24 hours, there are 88 more hospitalised people totalling 1,174, of which 165 are in intensive care (10 more compared to Sunday).
In the last 24 hours, 966 patients have recovered, totalling 59,966 since the start of the pandemic.
In the region of Lisbon and the Tagus Valley, a further 749 new cases of infection were reported, with the region accounting for 48,161 cases and 884 deaths.
Today, the North region has 987 new cases of covid-19, totalling 40,436 cases and 971 deaths since the beginning of the pandemic.
In the Centre region there were 133 more cases, accounting for 8,347 infections and 279 deaths.
In Alentejo, 35 new cases of covid-19 were registered, totalling 2,026, with a total of 27 deaths since the beginning of the pandemic.
The Algarve region has today reported 32 new cases of infection, totalling 2,231 cases and 22 deaths.
In the Autonomous Region of the Azores, seven new cases were registered in the last 24 hours, adding up to 325 infections detected and 15 deaths since the beginning of the pandemic.
Madeira registered six new cases in the last 24 hours, accounting for 334 infections, with no deaths to date.
Confirmed cases are distributed across all age groups, with the highest number of infections in those between 20 and 59 years of age.
Today's bulletin discloses the number of cases by municipality, with Lisbon continuing to have the most infections (8,241), followed by Sintra (6,763), Loures (3,891) and Amadora (3,470).
The municipality of Vila Nova de Gaia registers 2,888 infections due to SARS-CoV-2, Porto 2,884, Odivelas 2,676, Cascais 2,695, Oeiras 2,131, Vila Franca de Xira 2.007, Matosinhos 1.929, Braga 1,819, Guimarães 1,772, Almada 1,660, Seixal 1.603, Gondomar 1.523, Maia 1.418, Paço de Ferreira 1.303, Valongo 1.160 and Vila Nova de Famalicão 1021 specify the report on the epidemiological situation of covid-19 in Portugal.
The remaining counties on the list of the report registered values ??below 1,000 cases.
Wow, more fear porn numbers, nice! Good thing most people with a working brain know that "cases" doesn't mean a thing. Cases are not sick people, cases are mostly just false positives. On average, "normally" 16 people a day die of pneumonia in Portugal. Never heard anybody about that.
