According to the article that will appear in Saúde magazine, April edition, and which was released to Notícias ao Minuto "From testing 15 facial products with SPF 50 or 50+, seven failed in the laboratory. Six actually correspond to SPF 30, with Vichy's also failing to protect against UVA rays, just like ISDIN", the article reads.

"Some are misleading and unsafe: they advertise an SPF of 50 or 50+, but, in reality, they have SPF 30", says DECO PROteste.

Given that "many" are from international brands, consumer organizations similar to DECO PROteste in Spain, Belgium, Italy, France and the Netherlands "have also reported the bad results to the respective health authorities, who are responsible for monitoring and guaranteeing the quality, efficacy and safety of cosmetic products".

Furthermore, "to ensure that these sunscreens comply with the law and are correctly labelled as SPF 30", the association also suggests that "sales should be suspended, with sanctions being imposed on manufacturers for not respecting consumers or regulations".

DECO has named the seven products that failed their tests as being: ISDIN Fusion water Magic SPF 50, Piz Buin Hidro Infusion Sun Gel Face Cream 50 SPF, Rituals Invisible Sun Protection Face Cream SPF 50+, Nivea Sun UV Rosto Sensitive 50, Biotherm Waterlover Face Sunscreen SPF50+, Lancaster Sun Sensitive Oil Free Milky Fluid SPF 50 and Vichy Capital Soleil Crème Untuoso 50+.
