Rovers have been drawn to play against Danish champions FC Copenhagen if they win their first-round qualifier which looks favourable for the side. The teams that they could face in round 1 are Atletic Club d'Escaldes from Andorra, Podgorica of Montenegro, Tre Penne from San Marino, and Icelandic side Breidablik.

The teams above are very favourable for Stephen Bradley’s side which they should be well able to beat and continue to round 2 to face Copenhagen.

Last season, the Danish team advanced to the group stages of the Champions League and went undefeated at home, managing to earn draws against eventual champions Manchester City, Europa League winners Sevilla, and Bundesliga runners-up Borussia Dortmund.

So, it will be a very tough test for Shamrock Rovers but will hopefully be able to scrape a result and continue the long road to European football.
