In a statement sent to The Portugal News, the municipality reveals that “the new access points to the public bicycle network are being installed by EMEL”, in parishes such as Beato, São Domingos de Benfica, Benfica and Carnide. All these access points are ready to use from the 28th of July at 6 am.

The parish of Beato will have “two new stations, for a total of 42 docks”, installed on Avenida Infante D. Henrique, spread across the Poente and Nascente HUB. In São Domingos de Benfica, two stations will be inaugurated, “one on Rua São Domingos de Benfica and the other on Rua Conde de Almoster”, with a total of 28 docks installed.

As for the parish of Benfica, 27 docks will be installed on Avenida Uruguai. According to the same press release, wait in Carnide for another 17 docks on Avenida do Colégio Militar.

With the inauguration of the new access points, Lisbon now has 152 GIRA stations, spread across the various parishes of the city, totalling 2987 docks. After registering 2.6 million trips in 2022, the municipality hopes that in 2023 GIRA will be able to exceed all the goals already achieved.
