At the Restelo Stadium, the Portuguese rugby team defeated Spain 33-30 to earn a spot in the Rugby Europe Championship 2024 (REC24) final, where they will once again play Georgia.

Despite a try from Lucas Martins (37 minutes) and a 20–13 deficit at halftime, the 'wolves' rallied with goals from José Lima (51), Manuel Cardoso Pinto (58), and Hugo Aubry (100) to convert the three tries and add four penalties (11, 18, 65, 69).

Portugal and Georgia last played each other in the 2023 World Cup in France which finished (18–18). On March 17, at 8:00 pm (Lisbon time), in Paris, the REC24 final against the Georgians will take place, this same final ended with defeat to Portugal last year by a score of 38–11. With the momentum the Portuguese have carried since the World Cup, it should be a much tighter affair.
