In a statement to Notícias ao Minuto, the National Emergency and Civil Protection Authority (ANEPC) revealed that since 5pm on March 25th, Monday, when the special Civil Protection alert began, and until 7:30am this Thursday, 997 incidents were recorded.

In total, 3,298 operational and 1,238 land assets were mobilised.

Most of the incidents were tree falls, flooding, road cleaning and structural falls, with the largest number recorded in Greater Lisbon. However, areas such as Porto, Setúbal, Aveiro, Coimbra or Braga were also affected.

Everything indicates that the bad weather will continue, at least until the 31st, and Civil Protection recommends that the population follow the recommendations already issued.

The IPMA predicted rain, sometimes heavy and persistent, which could be hail and accompanied by thunderstorms and strong sea agitation with waves from the northwest on the west coast, reaching six to seven metres north of Cape Carvoeiro (maximum height of 12 metres).
