Borba cheese production, one of the main economic activities in this municipality – will be highlighted at the Cheese Fair, which will run until Sunday in the Alentejo Village.

“A land rich in flavors and traditions, the municipality of Borba celebrates Easter with an event dedicated to excellent regional products, especially cheese,” said the municipality.

In addition to promoting the municipality's traditional cheese, the initiative, organised by the municipality and the Parish Council of Rio de Moinhos, is also intended to promote other regional products, such as wine, sausages, olive oil, bread, sweets and handicrafts.

With this event, the organisation assumed that it also intends to highlight "the quality and genuineness" of the municipality's products.

The event program includes musical entertainment, with emphasis on the performances of Al Canti, on Friday, at 10:30 pm, Sangre Ibérico, on Saturday, at 9:30 pm, and Los Chupitos, on Sunday, at 3:30 pm.

According to the organisers, the event is associated with the celebrations of the 10th anniversary of Cante Alentejano as Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity by the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO).

The event will also have street entertainment, performances by dance groups, artists from Rio de Moinhos and entertainment from several DJs – while there are also tastings of regional products and gastronomy.
