Portugal’s PJ police have this week arrested a 25-year-old man at Lisbon airport on suspicion of drug trafficking, while a pensioner was arrested in Porto for attempting to board a flight with bullets in a bag
In Lisbon, authorities seized enough cocaine from the foreign man to create 10,000 individual doses.
In a statement, the PJ said the man, who travelled to Portugal from an unspecified Latin American country, was held on remand after being found to be carrying the large quantity of cocaine inside his body.
In an unrelated incident, a pensioner was detained at Porto airport for carrying bullets in his luggage.
According to PSP police, the 77-year-old man, resident in Coimbra, was detained as he prepared to board an international flight at Francisco Sá Carneiro airport with 19, 6.35mm bullets in a bag.
The ammunition was detected by security control officers Saturday lunchtime.
