The group said that out of the 12 boats that were tied up “eight are undergoing maintenance and it expected that three of them would be back in service in the coming weeks".
The Communist MPs elected for nearby Setúbal, asked the government about the company’s situation, stressing that a lack of workers and “operating constraints” meant some services had had to be cancelled.
The MPs said that on average “six services a day are cancelled by Transtejo and six a week by its sister company", adding that a “large number of vessels were immobilised ".
"In Transtejo, it is almost half of the boats as a consequence of lack of maintenance, unresolved faults and a lack of navigability certification", they added.
